I just thought I would give people a heads-up to the fact that Commandant Henry Lachouque's ANATOMY OF GLORY Napoleon and his Guard is currently being offered by the Naval & Military Press for the princely sum of £5. I know it is considered rather dated but it is one of those books that every Napoleonic library should have (if only to fill up shelf space with its considerable bulk). I have had a copy for over forty years - though I must confess I have never actually got round to reading it. I have, however, looked at the pictures, which are very nice.

It was the book that got me started in Napoleonic history. I read it in 1968 and have been hooked ever since.
