Right in time for christmas I completed the scan of the first of three volumes written by Vicomte de Grouvel in the 1950s. The 1st volume covers the troops in british and dutch service and 40 plates done by Louis de Beaufort accompany the vast text.

Hello Markus, I have only just 'found' this post.
What a superb resource, and one that even my schoolboy French can handle - there are so many more regiments than I imagined there to be. The de Beaufort illustrations are also excellent.
