Afternoon all,
Following on from my post about my East India Company Army, i've decided to post about my native armies on my blog below, for those who are interested
https://peninsularwargamingblog.wordpress.com/2021/04/05/wellington-in-india-6mm-armies/
I'm also genuinely stuck on what type of terrain was common in 18th and 19th Century India - I literally have no idea - so any suggestions are welcome!!
As always, feedback, comments, suggestions are welcome
Regards
J
Terrain largely depends on where you're campaigning of course. The area of Wellesley's 1803 campaign on the Deccan would be rolling dusty plains interspersed with rocky outcrops and with little mud built villages surrounded by cultivated areas. Lake also had to contend with major cities like Delhi and Agra with huge defencive works. Some of the hilltop fortresses in the area are truly majestic in scale and appearance.
You can't go wrong by looking at the B&W photos in Jac Weller's 'Wellington in India'. This should provide some inspiration.
I'll certainly take a look at your blog - thanks for sharing.
