I have written a piece on Austrian flags as this subject is one where little bits and pieces turn up all over the place. I am not sure how to copy links on an iPad, but it can be found under ‘Flags of the Imperial Austrian Army of the Napoleonic Wars’. There is an attempt by a recent researcher to list all the changes in each regiment in the Nachlasse in the Kriegsarchiv, but he made the mistake of thinking the 1804 pattern was widely issued. However, I will try to dig it out again on a future trip and add the details in - not easy these days, as it is only three cartons per day Monday to Thursday.

Yes, 1806 pattern, but with blue ribbons at the top. Original painting error followed by a catalogue error followed by my copying that without checking the artefact first. Not a great tale.
It was an error in a catalogue to Burg Forchtenstein, which I copied before I had seen the original item. It is the fragment of an 1806 pattern on display there, which has blue ribbons (as per the 1780/92 pattern) instead of the regulation red, under Surviving examples. My error for not checking that one first.
Interesting, I couldn't see any mentioning of the so called light blue or blue Ordinairfahne which should have been carried by one regiment, which was discussed recently on TMP and you were referenced as source.
Any news on that one would be highly appreciated
