By posting on this forum, you automatically agree to adhere to the following rules. Any post which breaches these rules will be deleted. Repeat offenders will be barred from the forum.
1) Be polite and respectful of all members at all times.
a) Personal, malicious attacks, rude language, or trolling of any kind, will not be tolerated.
b)When querying the opinions of another forum member, it is not acceptable to write in a way that insults members of the forum or questions their competence and/or right to express a contrary opinion.
c)Whilst fairly critiquing the work of historians is encouraged, this must always be done in a respectful manner, and opinions must always be justified. When critiquing a published work, forum members are expected to respect the fact that published works often go through a review process prior to publication, and represent a significant investment of time from the part of the author. Criticism and debate of a work’s merit is perfectly acceptable, but must be conducted in a respectful, moderate tone, rather than using insulting or pejorative language.
2) No swearing, obscene, racist, homophobic, derogatory, or discriminatory language of any kind. These posts will be removed and the member who posted them will be immediately and permanently barred from the forum.
3)Respect the fact that not everyone using this forum is an expert. Belittling or patronising posts will be treated as a breach of rule 1.
a) This forum is designed to bridge the gaps between researchers, students and members of the public with a general interest in the period. If you see errors in a post, or feel a comment is misguided, query this respectfully in line with rules 1a and 1b
4)All forum users must use their own names. No pseudonyms are permitted.
5) Posts which are obscene, sexual, defamatory, libellous, fraudulent, or in any way violates the rights of another user, or are considered to be an example of harassment, are not permitted. These posts will be removed and the member who posted them will be immediately and permanently barred from the forum.
6)No copyright material, including articles or images of any kind may be posted. The ONLY exception to this rule is that you may quote a copyrighted book or article PROVIDED you BOTH identify where the quote came from and the quote does not exceed 100 words.
7) Weblinks may only be posted if they are related to content on the 18th and 19th century. This also applies to youtube links.
8) No politically orientated posts, advertising, or repetitive posts are permitted
9)Advertising is not permitted, unless the post seeks to make members aware of an event which is relevant to the period, or if an author is making members of the forum aware of a book that they have recently published.
10) If a member is found to be in breach of any of these rules, they will be offered the opportunity to alter their post(s). Failure to comply with a request to amend a post within 48 hours of being informed by a forum moderator that amendment is required, will result in a 14 day ban from the forum. (The exception to this are breaches of Rules 2 and 5.)
11) If Rule 10 is applied to a member repeatedly (on three occasions), they will receive a 14 day ban. Members who are banned more than twice in a 36 month period will be permanently barred from the forum.
12)The moderators’ decision on amending or deleting posts and expelling forum members is final.
13) If members are unsure of whether their post will meet these criteria, or have a concern about material which has been posted, they should contact the website owner immediately at zwhi814@gmail.com

I am trying to discover the meaning of the German term Bogenschwenkung and its use in combat. Thanks.
I've had the same problem. I found the posts come up if you click on the reload symbol (if that's what it's called-the circular arrow) next to the address bar. Seems the simplest way to do it. (You'll see that the correct URL is in the box, even though the page hasn't come up.)
I am having considerable dificulty in accessing the forum posts and accompanying comments. I have tried using two different
browsers, but I get the same result: posts will not open, or if they open it is the wrong one. Please advise.
