Hello everyone,
I have been pushing through to the finish of listing the officers that served in the 3rd Corps at the Battle of Thann. I am hitting a wall regarding the ADCs for both General de Brigades Lorencez and Destabenrath.
I know so far that the situational report for 1 June 1809 of the 2nd Corps list Lorencez with Capit. Jolain was his ADC, but after further research, I found his service record that stated he transferred to Lorencez after the death of General Pouzet at the Battle of Essling. Another report for on 15 July 1809 for the 4th Corps shows General Destabenrath having one ADC named Destabenrath, which I am assuming is his brother Pierre Destabenrath.
Lastly, I found two service records that show officers from the ligne regiments in Lorencez's brigade were transferred to his staff on April 23, 1809. I wonder if he did not have an ADC and picked two officiers d'ordonnance from the regiments he commanded, and then they were officially appointed in the April 23 Decree.
So if anyone has any information on possibly ADC for both these Generals during the 1808 or 1809 period it would be greatly appreciated.
Below is what I have so far for the 4th Division.

Hello everyone,
Thanks to the help of a member of the SEHRI forum who provided documents from the SHD, it has been shown that both General Latrille de Lorencez and de Stabenrath only had one ADC during April 1809. Now need to find the officers of the artillery attached to the division and the 4th Division will be complete!
I appreciate everyones help!
Dear Michael, please note that the family spells the name "de Stabenrath." It sometimes appears in contemporary documents as "Destabenrath" (but never as d'Estabenrath).
Good luck with your further hunting!
So after some more research, I was able to find a former adjoint to Adjutant Commandant de Stabenrath on 1 Oct 1806 from Scott Bowdens Napoleons Apogee p.385. His adjoint is listed as Saint-Leger, and after a few minutes of research on Base Leonore, I found Capit. Ferdinand César de SAINT-LEGER However, it seems he retired in 1808 and joined the National Guard in 1810, so the search continues! Also, unfortunately, Latrille de Lorencez was still the Colonel of the 46e Ligne at the time, so no luck finding an aide de camp.
I did find four ADCs who were awarded the LdH on April 23, 1809. I have information on two of the four being Baracan and de Stabenrath. I would assume these men served on the staff of the 4th Division because all of the men awarded the LdH come from the regiments in that divison. Information from here
BARACAN , capitaine aide - de - camp .
ESTABENRATH ( d ' ) , capitaine aide - de camp
LABORDE , capitaine aide - de - camp .
LALBENAS , aide - de - camp .
Michael, do not think this answers your specific question on AdC's, but for de Stabenrath, take a look at his lengthy obituary, written by a relative by marriage and evidently partly taken from discussions with the former general: Alexandre Genet, Notice Nécrologique sur le Général de Stabenrath, Paris: Christophe, 1858. Should be available in Googleland.
Glad I could find it.
Salut
Demande sur le site SEHRI, tu auras ta réponse!
Je pense que le Capitaine Louis François Varnier est plutôt l'adjoint du Chef d'escadron Seruzier.
Seuls les généraux et maréchaux ont des aides de camp.
Cordialement
