Any ideas how to search special numbers, like 1827 - I looked at Gallica - over 2400 hits, but couldn't locate the journal, with google books, I get all sorts of years and numbers but have to wade through endless unsorted links.
There here are true historical academics - I hope that they have some suggestions to help making my search more efficient and less random.
To add - I am interested in downloads and not printed versions.
Good Day HK,
i managed to download "rather easily" volumes 1 - 20 of le SM.
i try to get the rest in the next days. may be i can try to upload them
in my one drive when done and share the folder with you ..
Hello HK,
there is a general table of contents for le spectateur militaire : 199 pages listing all the published articles ..
https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k131918b.image
Gallica has a limited amount of the volumes, unfortunately.
the best is to target only the relevant articles you are interested in ...
we could try to establish a list and share the download burden ..
: )
Thanks for all the help, especially to Markus Stein.
OCR is indeed the optical character reading technique in order to get searchable PDF files. And "Galiläa" was the automatic conversion of my computer from Gallica
Dave just explained the detailled search
Optical Character Recognition I presume? The software that processes an image and converts it into text, which is then searchable.
At Galiläa you may download the final "Table Generale des Matières" with a good register published in 1880 - perhaps I'll do an OCR upon my download in order to retrieve the items faster.
But it is a good start with these tables
Greetings to Franconia
