Les Collections du Musée de l'armée.
This volume presents the collection in the Invalides (the French Army Museum) as it applies to the Wars of the French Revolution. The book is extensive in its coverage of the collection and presents photographs of the following in 119 pages:
-Flags and Standards.
-Weapons, including Arms of Honor (which preceded and were replaced by the Legion of Honor).
-Artillery.
-Uniforms and Equipment.
-Infantry, Cavalry, Artillery and Engineers.
-Gendarmerie.
-National Guard.
-Plaques (for grenadiers, belt buckles, courier brassards, etc.)
-Royalist troops.
-Portraits.
-Commanders and Battles.
-Bivouacs, the wounded, transport among lesser topics.
One interesting feature on pages 118-119 is a table about the armies and their commanders from 1792-1802.
Kevin, I'm as obliged to you as I am to Tom for posting details of material that will be of interest to forum members, can I ask that you post a little more than simply a title though - a link to a review would be helpful, perhaps the book's blurb. Otherwise the posts of the last couple of days are just a series of title which don't generate much by way of engagement.
Many thanks.
