The Napoleonic & Revolutionary War Graves Charity is excited to be holding the second ‘War and Peace in the Age of Napoleon’ conference, at the National Army Museum, London, on the 8th-10th September 2022. This event is being hosted both ‘in person’ and online to ensure anyone can tune in from around the world. Sponsored by the Society for Army Historical Research, it will bring together over 50 speakers from across the globe in one of the biggest gatherings of Napoleonic era experts and enthusiasts this year.
With talks on everything from archaeology to strategy, diplomacy to psychology and society to memory, the event, which is open to all, regardless of their level of experience in the period, truly offers something for everyone. Keynote talks will be delivered by Beatrice de Graaf, and William Fletcher, with a joint evening lecture by Ed Coss, Katie Iribhodbe and Zack White. Well-known speakers participating include Charles Esdaile, Matilde Greig, William Doyle, Jacqueline Reiter, Tony Pollard and Elaine Challus. We will also be featuring a guided tour of Apsley House, an evening lecture, and a private drinks and canapes reception at the Household Cavalry Museum.

Despite unanticipated difficulties, a conference of sorts was held many fine papers were heard, and, like the hostelry we frequented afterwards, a phoenix rose from the ashes.
