There's an online copy of Artur, Ribeiro's, Legião Portuguesa ao Serviço de Napoleão (1808–1813), Lisboa, Ferin, 1901. Which contains a great deal of information on the Legion here: http://www.arqnet.pt/portal/portugal/invasoes/legiao00.html
If you right click you should be able to use Google translate.
Thanks very usefll some translations by google are a bit hilerious, I guess in the original Bat. - for battalion, here in German Fledermäuse (bats) - also Drachen - dragons - instead of Dragoons, but this can be sort out easily.
There they didn't have officially any colours you can chose whatever you like it would be fiction anyway - Joseph Napoleon hat colours, as described in Guy Dempsey, I would recommend to invest in this book, as to the poles, I did not find any information, the colours are described in Dempsey's book, no eagles, so in case I would opt for black poles for this outfit.
Thanks Hans-Karl. I’m currently creating both a unit of Portuguese Legion and Joseph Napoleon line infantry and was wondering if the flagpoles would be painted a colour or left as bare woodPeter

According to Guy Dempsey there is no indication that the unit ever received official colours from Boney.
