I am trying to find out more about Lt.-Col Richard Fitzgerald, who died leading the 2nd Life Guards at Waterloo. I have found information about his basic army career, but I would like to know more about his background, especially his parents, pus any other details to fill in his life story.
Thanks
Thanks David...I am particularly interested in his exotic wife, whom I came across when looking into the life of Admiral Keith Stewart. Now I'm going to try and find more about their time at Verdun, where he seems not to have been recorded by Michael Lewis in his book 'Napoleon's British Captives', unless he is the Fitzgerald, described as a rich merchant, who escaped in 1810 (according to the Moniteur).
