There is much contradictory information on what the Brunswick Oëls infantry wore in the Peninsula. Most sources agree that they wore green jacket with blue facings, but I can not find any contemporary source that shows the front of their jacket. Did the jackets have horizontal black braids like the 1815 uniforms have? Unfortunately the few sources I have skirted the question by only showing the back of the jack.
I found the below image of two reenactors, but they only confuse the matter with one showing braid the other does not.
Thanks!
Bob
Further to previous answers, there appears to be a common misconception among British researchers, that all three of the detached companies that served in the 4th and 5th Divisions wore this green uniform and carried rifles instead of muskets. In fact, only the company serving in the 4th Division, which was descended from the Scharfschutzen (sharpshooter) companies of the 1809 "Black Horde", had these attributes and the two companies in the 5th Division wore the standard black uniform and carried muskets.
Some contemporary pictures by Geissler (Geißler), Sauerweid and others are published here:
Hemmann, T., Der Krieg in Sachsen 1809 dargestellt von Geißler und Sauerweid. Norderstedt: Books on Demand, 2011/13

Of course, during their stay in England and their mission in Portugal / Spain the uniform of the Brunswickers underwent some changes, but 1809 is a good starting point.

Dear Bob,
there are really very few contemporary illustrations of Brunswick infantry - so another good source are the Beyer-Pegau images done around 1900. A. Beyer-Pegau was an expert of the Brunswick army, some of his plates had been published in the uniform portal - I just added three more plates of the "Scharfschützen" (sharpshooter) in the infantry, who wore green coats ... just go to https://uniformenportal.de/index.php?/category/119 to view the published plates.
There are some more "Brunswick" images in the uniform portal, you may check them via https://uniformenportal.de/index.php?/tags/92-l_braunschweig - and there you also have some original items of the Brunswick museum and contemporary images; check the keywords, there you see the years I annotated to the images.

I would not dare to consult any re enactment photo without know the backround of the group, one of those chaps has no neck stock, what kind of collar on the fly is he wearing? The one with the laces seems to be an officer, see also the sash, all in all find better sources.
