With a week to go to the start of #WaterlooRemembered on the 5th June, please find full details of the epic two week initiative below.
You can access it all for free via the podcast 'The Napoleonicist'. Please bear in mind that although I will try to update the forum and website as often as possible with latest releases, the fastest way to get fresh content is to use Spotify, Google Podcasts, or Apple Podcasts, where you can listen for free.
14 days
41 readings of eye witness accounts (from all nationalities and perspectives).
10 interviews
4 days of live tweets
2 special pods
1 memorial service
Its one of, if not the biggest oral history projects ever attempted for the Napoleonic Wars.
Be sure to get involved. What does Waterloo mean to you? What myths would you like to explode about the battle? If you've been to the battlefield, what are your thoughts about it? Do you have ancestors who fought at Waterloo? Ask questions and discuss the topics raised in the interviews. Covid-19 might be keeping us apart physically, but that does not mean that we have to be mentally and emotionally separated.
Please pass details on to anyone who might be interested. Stay safe, and I'll see you on 5th June for the first instalment.
