The British are to blame, since their way of pronuciation of nearly every word is totaly incomprehansive. Or the should start writing their 'words' in a different, accordingly their pronunciation. Perhaps would the 'Umlaut' be a good idee, although we here manage very well without.

And the A in Waterloo should sound like the second A in words like Agenda, Camera.

@Alfred Brans Oh, no, I agree, we can't blame people for pronunciation. (After all, as Hans-Karl knows, my pronunciation is so bad that its becoming a running joke of my podcast!)

H@Zack White I meant the english language. Perhaps, the worst thing about their Victory, is the resulting worlddominance of english rather than french. Perhaps our army should have fared better back then, and people all over the world would have been better off, speaking Nederlands.
